Hardcover. Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall. Near Fine in a Very Good dust jacket. Later printing, in original bright blue cloth binding. 74 illustrations and maps, 2 folding. Tightly bound and unmarked, with minimal wear. Dust jacket is price-clipped and has some chipping and short tears. Account of the first Byrd Antarctic Expedition, in which scientific studies were conducted via snowshoe, dogsled, and airplane from a base camp on the Ross Ice Shelf named Little America.
