A fine copy in publisher's red cloth, in a very good, price-clipped dust jacket, with some small chips and tears (small loss to lower rear panel), light rubbing, soiling (splatter pattern) to spine. This was Baldwin's first book of nonfiction, a highly regarded collection of largely autobiographical essays addressing issues of race and identity in both society and literature.
