First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine in a Very Good dust jacket. First American edition. 263 pp plus index (viii). Introduction by John Hunt. Illustrated with b/w photos; includes bibliography and glossary. Name on front endpaper, slight sunning to tops of boards. In a price-clipped dust jacket with a some chipping and small tears. Provides a history of the early attempts on "the world's most murderous mountain." The author led the successful 1953 expedition, which culminated in Hermann Buhl's impressive solo summit climb. Neate H73.
