First American Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. pp 299 + 4 (ads), w/illustrated endpapers and 12 plates by Paul Bransom. Lovely pictorial cloth boards with image of a wolf on the front boards. Bookplate on front pastedown, slight rubbing to extremities, else fine. No dust jacket. An acclaimed poet, Roberts was also a pioneer of the animal story genre (along with fellow Canadian Ernest Seton Thompson).
