Original leather-backed blue boards with title in gilt. Leather scuffed, lower corners bumped, interior about fine, with mild toning to endpapers and an attractive art nouveau bookplate on the front pastedown.Hugo von Hofmannsthal (1874-1929) was "an Austrian poet, dramatist, and essayist. He made his reputation with his lyrical poems and plays and became internationally famous for his collaboration with the German operatic composer Richard Strauss" (Britannica). Karl Walser (1877-1943) was a Swiss painter, stage designer, muralist, and illustrator.
