The Mountains of Oregon [Signed]

Portland, OR: David Steel, 1890.

First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. 112 pp, indexed, illustrated, with what is titled an "Oregon Bibliography" but is more a chronology of exploration in the state. Signed by Steel under his name on the title page. Grey cloth boards beautifully illustrated with a mountain scene in gilt, black, and white. Title by hand on the spine. Mild bump to fore edge, light rubbing to corners, else fine. Steel was an enthusiastic promoter of Crater Lake and the surrounding area, earning the moniker "Father of Crater Lake," for his influence on having the area designated as America's sixth National Park.
