Original black cloth binding, with some creasing to the spine, corners lightly rubbed. Internals sound and unmarked. Dust jacket has considerable chipping and several internal tape repairs. Gelfand (1912-1985) was a South African physician and prolific writer who joined the Southern Rhodesia Medical Service in 1939. This early work served as an important guide to practicing medicine among the native populations.
