San Francisco: 1891.
Hardcover. Very good. Third edition, revised. 154 pp, with index, illustrations, and maps. Original pictorial cloth. Corners and front board rubbed. Binding sound, text clean. The author was Treasurer of the Californian-Russian Fur Company and traveled extensively in Alaska. A particularly interesting chapter of his addresses the "phantom cities" various travelers had claimed to see hovering above the glaciers and submerged in Glacier Bay. There is also much on Native American customs, beliefs, and language.
