Norco, CA: Tales of the Mojave Road Publishing, 1974.
First Edition. Softcover. Fine. Tales of the Mojave Road Number Four, September 1974. 160 pp, with index, illustrations, map endpapers. Original printed wrappers. Clean, tightly bound, unmarked. From the Foreword: "It is true that the army never established an official fort at this site. However, the army did station a small number of troops here in 1867 and 1868 and they erected the stone building that looks more like a fort than any other ruin along the Mojave Road. Also, it is well known that various military and civilian parties were attracted to this point as a campsite and spent time here. Consequently, the Pah-Ute Cree site has become known as "Fort Pah-Ute" in an informal sense through many years of useage."
