Number 134 of an edition of 200 signed by Snyder, but with no albumen print laid in. Timothy H. O'Sullivan crossed the frontier in the spring of 1867, as photographer for the first modern survey of the American West. He left it for the last time in 1874. In those seven years he produced over one thousand photographs of an immense, unknown region of the American wilderness.
