First Edition. Softcover. Very good. Three-volume auction catalogue, each volume in original wrappers. All with mild wear to the edges and with prices realized noted in ink in the margins. Some offsetting to wrappers on second volume.n The first sale, held November 23, 1894, was dedicated to first editions of Emerson, Longfellow, Hawthorne, Lowell, Holmes, Poe, and Whittier. The second sale, held January 30-31, 1895, contained an array of English literature, including works by Browning, Cowper, Dryden, De Foe, Goldsmith, Keats, Milton, Swift, Tennyson, and many others. The third sale, held February 20, 1895, was of modern English and American first editions, and included work by Lewis Carroll, William Morris, Andrew Lang, Robert Louis Stevenson, Henry D. Thoreau, and others.
