Silent Stories
1985.
Softcover. Very good. Printed in an edition of 750 copies by Typecraft, Inc., Pasadena, Califoria. 98 pp, 8.25 x 10.75 inches. Light shelf wear; tight and clean. Photographs of and transcripts of interviews with "native-born Asians, American-born Asians, or part Asian and part Caucasian," offering "a sampling of emotions and experiences about being a part of the American culture as subjects of the cultural melting pot." After talking with many subjects for many hours, the author concludes that "not only was there, overwhelmingly, and expression of racism towards Asians as an American minority, but also the question of discrimination regarding one another--a battle about which is the proudest Asian culture....Silent Stories becomes a recognition that there is still an unfulfilled need for the acceptance and validation of Asian-American experience."
