Four Original Photographs of Scenes at the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, NY, 1901

Very good. Four photographs, 4" x 5.5" (two on 6" x 7" mounts and two on 5.25" x 6.5" mounts). A nice grouping of what we presume are amateur, unpublished images that convey some of the flavor of a stroll through the exposition grounds. Our personal favorite is a wonderful image of the Streets of Cairo Exhibit, showing the grand entrance covered in hieroglyphics, men in Middle Eastern costume with rifles and drums, a camel, and in the background a shameless advertisement for Buffalo Beer. The others--each with its own charms--show people strolling in front of the "Fair Japan" exhibit; a local marching band performing; and a view from backstage of show featuring performing pigs and sheep.
