Clean and tight, with slight rubbing to corners and spine ends. Inscribed on the front free endpaper "Regards of the author, F.W. Schmoe, October 30th, 1925." Beneath this is an owner's signature, also dated 1925. The author was Park Naturalist at Mt. Rainier, and his guide details the roads, trails, scenic features, and natural history of the region. Mather's brief introduction describes Rainier as "the most complicated, largest, and most beautiful single-peak glacier system in the United States."
