New York: William Morrow, 1930.
First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Limited edition, signed by Bartlett on the limitation page, which page states that there were 210 copies for sale; this copy is numbered 217 (so perhaps was a hors commerce copy). There is also a previous owner's gift inscription on the facing page. Cloth spine with red paper label, decorative paper boards. Corners lightly rubbed, spine label dust soiled, otherwise a very nice copy. In the scarce original slipcase, which has several old tape repairs. According to Adams (Six Guns 188), the content of this book is "drawn from the wealth of unpublished material that Major Bell left at his death, containing much information that he did not wish to make public while his subjects were alive." It contains material on Joaquin Murrieta and other notorious outlaws.
