Hardcover. Good. Fourth edition (first published 1838), 8vo, 416 pp; with folding frontispiece map of the Oregon Territory and one engraved plate. Publisher's brown cloth with blind-stamped decoration, gilt lettering on spine. Spine slanted, cloth partially split along front joint, old dampstain visible on the last 15-20 pp. Map has some foxing but is otherwise in nice condition. Wagner-Camp (70:3): "Parker went out to the Rockies in 1835 with the annual American Fur.Company party, starting from Council Bluffs. Dr. Marcus Whitman traveled with him as far as a rendezvous on the Green River. Parker arrived at Walla Walla on October 6 and returned by way of the Hawaiian Islands in 1837...Parker's map was one of the earliest to circulate widely and to provide reliable information about the interior of the Oregon Territory."
