San Jose: Victor Hillis & Sons, 1938.
First Edition. Softcover. Very good. 6.5 x 9.75 inches, (ix), 16 pp, in beige printed wrappers with half-tone photo of Yosemite Falls mounted on front cover, accompanied by the original (unposted) mailing envelope. One mild crease affects the volume as a whole, otherwise a very nice copy, inscribed on the front free endpaper "Thoughts from Yosemite -- to you. Frances Osborne-Stallings. This collection of Yosemite-related verse, is dedicated "to the Ranger-Naturalists of our National Parks, and to all who love life." Many of the poems are about specific features--both natural and manmade--of the Park, such as Nevada and Vernal Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Glacier Point, the Ahwahnee, Yosemite Lodge, and Camp Curry. A second edition was published in 1940.
