The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood
London: Printed by Kronheim & Co. for George Routledge & Sons.
Softcover. Very good-. Undated, but 1870s. Number 59 in Routledge's Shilling Toy Books series. 9.25" x 10.5", 6 pages of text, 4 full-page plates and one double-page plate, all chromolithographs. Chipping at base of spine, one internal repair to spine with archival tape, else very good. The illustrator is not identified, but illustrators for this series were Henry Stacy Marks, John Dawson Watson, Harrison Weir, and Frederick Keyl. A review quote on the back cover opines that the books in this series "could not be better drawn, printed, or coloured, if they cost twenty shillings instead of twelve pence."
