Seattle: Kroll Map Co.
Hardcover. Good. Copyright 1912, but with 1914-1916 updates noted on a small sheet affixed to the index page. 16.5" x 29.5" inches, with 159 leaves printed on linen, including title page, index pp, and 78 plat maps, of which 77 are double-page, and one (No. 42) is a single page. Bound in heavy cloth-covered boards with leather corners; weighs 27 pounds. Condition: This is a good reference--but not collectible--copy of this rare and desirable atlas. It is complete (other than missing many tabs) and fully legible and useable, but suffered water damage at some point and has a dampstaining throughout, as well as a mild musty odor. A few pages have previous owner's markings in red pencil. Please examine images carefully before purchasing. The Kroll Map Company issued their first Atlas of Seattle in 1912 and updated it regularly with newly platted lots and streets. Their website notes that "since its inception, the company has focused on mapping for real estate and local government." The detailed parcel maps in this atlas show property lines, tax lot numbers, public parks, utility information, plat names, and many other features. An invaluable resource for studying the residential and commercial development of Seattle.
