1794 Virginia Probate Document Discussing the Valuation of Six Slaves

Manuscript document dated January 4, 1794, 2 pages on a single 12.25" x 7.5" sheet. Good condition, with folding creases, old staining, archival tape repairs on second page. Regards the disposition of the estate of Bassett Moseley (b. Princess Anne, Virginia in 1737; d. Norfolk, Virginia, 1782). The document states that the administrator of the estate "hath this day delivered up negroes Hannah, Jim, Joe, Abby, Susannah, and her child Nancy to be divided as aforesaid being all the negroes belonging to the estate," and they have been valued by three men "mutally chosen for that purpose, at the price of two hundred and eighty six pounds."
