Oxford: Basil Blackwell, 1941.
Hard. Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Second edition (first published 1904). 227 pp., illustrated, bound in original tan cloth with purple lettering on spine and mountain vignette on front board. Upper corners lightly bumped, bookseller stamp on front pastedown, else fine. The beautifully designed yellow dust jacket is price-clipped, slightly dust soiled, chipped at head of spine, and has a short tear with tiny loss to upper front panel. Neate S83: "Slingsby was one of the leading climbers of his generation, climbing in Britain and the Alps, but he is still revered in Norway as the 'Father' of Norwegian mountaineering. His book remains the classic, indispensible work on the region."
