Inscribed on the front free endpaper: “Presented to Ira Folsome for the Sabbath School Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Gilmanton Nov. 27, 1827.” Includes a short Introduction and 165 hymns (words only). Benson (1749-1821) was an early English Methodist minister and apologist. This book of hymns was first published in England in 1806 and in the United States in 1822. All editions appear to be scarce.
