Single issue of this scarce periodical. 42 pp + [6] pp of ads for educational products, in original printed wrappers, with 4-pg circular offerring premiums for subscribers laid in. Old dampstain to upper inner corner, otherwise very good. Only two holdings of any issue found in OCLC, at the Ohio Historical Society and the Cincinnati Public Library. According to the History of Warren County, Ohio (1882), the journal's editor, Reginald Heber Holbrook, served as Vice President of the Normal University and editor of the Normal Teacher, was the author of “Outlines of United States History,” “The New Method or School Expositions,” “Simple Experiments in Natural Philosophy,” “Outline of the New Testament” and “Botanical Record Book;” and the "inventor of a school air-pump and pneumatic apparatus, besides innumerable expedients to bring the natural sciences, experimentally, within the reach of the country schools."
