Hardcover. Near fine. Undated, but listed in OCLC as 1928. 11.25" x 9", 125 pp, with 12 tipped-in color plates. bound in publishers blue and white cloth with decoration in gilt. Corners lightly bumped, slight fading to bottom edge of boards, previous owner's ink stamp on front pastedown, else a fine copy, signed by Elizabeth Keith (without inscription) on the front free endpaper. Keith (1887-1956) was a Scottish-born printmaker, watercolorist, and writer whose work centered on depictions of Asian life and culture. The text of this volume is composed of letters and extracts from letters Keith wrote during her extensive travels in Japan, China, Korea, and the Phillipinea, and the plates reproduce nine of her original wood block prints, as well as two watercolors and an etching.
