First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Two volumes. First volume: Limited edition, #283 of 750 copies, signed by author on the limitation page. 293 pp + illustrations, with frontispiece, index. Volume II: Number 278 of 400 copies of the "De Luxe Edition," which contains illustrations not found in the trade edition. xi, 306 pp + illustrations, with frontispiece, index. Both volumes with some toning from glue at hinges, light soiling to boards, previous owner's name on front free endpaper; contents clean, binding tight. No dust jackets. Otero served from 1897 to 1906 as the 16th Governor of New Mexico Territory. Six Guns 1659: Volume I tells the story of Wild Bill Hickock's murder, repeats many of the legends about Clay Allison, and tells about the attempt of the mob at Las Vegas to take Dave Rudabaugh away from Pat Garrett. He also tells about Jesse James's visit to Las Vegas and his murder by Bob Ford. In Volume II the author tells about the lynching of Joel Fowler and has a long chapter on Vicente Silva and his gang."
