Yale Western American Series No. 5. 10 x 14 inches. xxxv, 335 pp, with maps, illustrations, facsimiles, index. 8x10 pcolor photo of a map showing the Route of Lewis and Clark, 1805 laid in. Minimal dust soiling to edges; else fine. Jacket is price-clipped and has light shelf wear and some chipping and a short tear to the head of the spine. Signed by Osgood on verse of front flyeaf. Edited edition of the rough notes taken by Clark between 1803 and 1805 (discovered in a St. Paul attic in 1953). The notes are reproduced in facsimile and transcript and annotated by Osgood. Due to size, shipping charge will be more than standard for priority or international orders.
