Lacking rear free endpaper, some pencil scribblings on pastedowns, light foxing; all else very good. Purves was a Scottish Universalist minister. Here he "upholds the doctrine of universal restoration and defends the Arian remodelling of the Trinity against Socinian Unitarianism" (DNB). The book is dedicated "to all the true friends of religious and civil liberty."
