Paris: Blaizot, 1911.
Hardcover. Very good. Small quarto. 109 pp, profusely illustrated with etchings by Octave Denis Victor Guillonnet. In a fine Riviere binding of crushed red morocco decorated in gilt, top and fore edges gilt, marbled endpapers, spine in six compartments. One shallow scratch on front board, some rubbing to edges and joints (where it appears at one time an attempt was made to restore color to the rubbed area); still a lovely copy, with original wrappers bound in. L'Arlésienne was first published as a play and first performed in 1872. This first illustrated edition and was limited to 278 copies, of which this is number 125.
