What Took Place in Dundee in the Month of March, 1861

Columbus, O[hio]: John Geary & Son, 1861.

Wraps. Good. 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" sewn pamphlet in plain unprinted wraps, pp. 20; wraps chipped and stained, some foxing internally. A religious screed on certain fine points of theology that we regretfully concede remain opaque to our meager modern brains. Oman Lawrence (1830-1906) was a minister in the Northern Ohio Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church for more than fifty years, and was an "earnest and forceful" preacher known for his "tremendous will power" and "determination" to get things done. In the self-published pamphlet here (unrecorded in OCLC), his passion is on full view, bringing, in his own words, "a cannon to shoot a mouse." In modern parlance, we might call it a tempest in a teapot, but we cannot deny the good Reverend's fervor.
