An Historical and Descriptive Review of the City of Brooklyn and Her Manufacturing and Mercantile Industries, Including Many Sketches of Leading Public and Private Citizens
New York and Philadelphia: Historical Publishing Company, 1883.
First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. 6.5" x 10", 256 pp, illustrated, in original green cloth boards. A fair copy only. Text is complete and clean, but pages are tanned and book was water-damaged at some time. Boards are stained and slightly warped, there is some staining to the endpapers and a piece of clear tape over part of the front pastedown, and text block has minor rippling. Not pretty, but a serviceable reference copy of the first edition. Above the title is "Part I," but as far as we can tell there were never any additional volumes. A very informative work providing detailed information on hundreds of Brooklyn businessmen and their businesses, as well as a general history of industry in the city.
