A compilation of Japanese tales from mythology, legends, medieval romance, and a few modern stories. Elizabeth Champney was the author of a several "Romance of..." volumes (the rest relating to Europe) as well as the Vassar Girls Abroad series of novels aimed at young women. This volume was co-authored with her son.
