Hardcover. Good. “By the author of ‘Aunt Fanny’s Christmas Stories.’” 6.5” x 5”, 171 pp + 8 engraved illustrations. A good or better copy in publisher’s blind-stamped cloth with gilt vignette of a young woman on upper board. Chipping to spine cloth along rear joint, mild spine slant, staining to one corner of rear board. Bookseller’s ticket (Crowen’s Book Store, New York City) on front pastedown, inscribed “Lillie Marvin, June 7th, 1860” on front free endpaper. A series of bedtime stories. Two other “Nightcaps” books were subsequently published under the Aunt Fanny pseudonym.
