First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. 11.25" x 9", 184, (3) pp, with 24 tipped-in color plates reproducing watercolors, bound in original yellow cloth with red lettering. Mild spine slant, light dust soiling to boards, lower corners bumped, gift inscription dated 1976 on front free endpaper, otherwise clean. Heath says in the Foreword, that the book "was written just previous to the Great War and Chinese Revolution, and, as it is composed of jottings from my diary, it is consequently very scrappy, but at any rate it describes many very interesting excursions and how the country looked to me in that period."
