Complete run in near fine condition of this short-lived publication of the Washington Ex Libris Society (Nos. 1 and 2) and American Bookplate Society (Nos. 3 and 4), published from July, 1896 to April 1897 in an edition of 300 copies of each issue. Each issue measures ca. 8.76" x 6.5" and is bound in original gray paper wrappers with yapp edges, printed in black and red at the press of of H.L. McQueen, Washington, D.C. The issues are numbered continuously and end at page 136. Each issue has in-text illustrations, inserted tissue-guarded plates (not included in the pagination), and advertisements at the rear. Articles cover American bookplate collections and collectors, specific rare bookplates, and related subjects; also includes the first four installments (ending in D) of Henry Blackwell’s Checklist of American Bookplates. Some chipping and rippling to wrappers, light toning to edges, else fine. Scarce.
