First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 6.75" x 10.25,", 86 pp, in original blue cloth boards, extensively illustrated from photographs. Some soiling and nibbling to boards, binding a bit loose but holding. This scarce pictorial souvenir of Pomona, California and its fire department includes two introductory pages from the publisher (one in praise of firemen generally), a short history of the Pomona Fire Department (founded in 1884), and three pages on "Peerless Pomona" by Arthur M. Dole. There are six pages of advertisements at the end; the rest is entirely illustrations, including several group portraits of Pomona firefighters (some identified) and many interior and exterior shots of notable homes and businesses.
