Yosemite, Camp Curry, 1924

Yosemite Park and Curry Company, 1924.

Softcover. Very good. Folded brochure, 4" x 9", with 8 panels printed on both sides, color cover illustration of Camp Curry at night, with the Firefall (a daily summertime event in which burning embers were pushed from Glacier Point) above. Very good, with slight discoloration along the fold between the two cover panels and a small " Peck-Judah Distribution" ink stamp on the front cover. Includes a birdseye view of Yosemite that extends over part of three panels, a smaller birdseye view of Camp Curry, other photographic illustrations, and details of the various lodging options available at Camp Curry. Known today as Curry Village, Camp Curry was established in 1899 to offer affordable lodging to park visitors. It began with just a few tents, but grew rapidly into a tourist complex that included cabins, dining facilities, and recreational activities.
