Program for the twentieth annual session of The Florida Chautauqua, which was founded in 1886 in De Funiak Springs, Florida, to provide a winter home to the original New York Chautauqua. The Chautauqua movement, which spread across much of the United States in the late 19th century, offered education and social, cultural, and spiritual enrichment to adults via series of lectures, musical performances, and artistic endeavors -- usually in a pleasant outdoor environment. This program includes description of the grounds, transportation information, biographies of the performers and lecturers, a detailed schedule of activities, and advertising from railroads, hotels, and local businesses of interest to visitors.
