Hardcover. Near fine. One of 115 copies printed in black and red on handmade paper (an additional 10 were printed on vellum) by Temple Scott. Beautiful double-page title woodcut and printer's device designed by F. Tolles Chamberlin. A near fine copy (boards slightly splayed) in original full vellum binding, lacking silk ties. SIGNED on the colphon by Chamberlin at a later (hard to decipher) date. This was the first volume produced by the Monadnock Press. The text is taken from William Painter's Palace of Pleasure (1567), a source for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
