A good, solid copy for reading or reference, with very faint dampstain to bottom margin of text block, considerable staining and wear to boards, partially removed bookplate on front free endpaper, front hinge cracked. The 1890 census represented a critical baseline to help Congress determine the political and citizenship status of Alaska's native populations. This detailed report served as one of the most comprehensive geographical, demographic, and economic surveys of the region following the 1867 Alaska Purchase.
