The author was a writer (primarily of theology and Christian psychology), educator and traveling producer of religious stage plays. She was also the aunt of Amelia Earhart. This is a religiously themed novel about a young teacher from Iowa who travels with her brother to a mining camp in Western Colorado to teach the children of the miners.
